The Cambria opened in early 2019 to a market full of new hotels and has dazzled the market ever since. The hotel sits on a small site near the historic Grove Arcade, but it takes advantage of the land constraints to go vertical and provide mountain views for the majority of it’s guestrooms. The hotel has 3 levels of parking garage, including one below grade, a ground floor independent restaurant and a full service hotel restaurant on the fourth floor with a large outdoor patio and more views of the mountains. The hotel also boasts a flexible meeting space on the same fourth floor where weddings, receptions and gatherings of all kinds can be accommodated within one continuous floor space. The hotel is high rise, at 12 stories above grade, so challenges were many, but our experienced team navigated several opportunities of an urban location from municipal requirements, to adjacent neighbors’ concerns while maximizing the elements of a complicated, small site to create a hotel that stands out in it’s market.
