Roper Berkeley Cancer Center
The transformation of a first-generation medical office building into an expanded facility brought the first radiation oncology center to Berkeley County.
Located on the Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital campus, this 8,200 SF upfit with 2,000 sf building addition for a new LINAC vault created a radiation oncology unit which enhances cancer care accessibility for Berkeley and Dorchester County residents.
Equipped with a state-of-the-art TrueBeam Linear Accelerator, the unit delivers precision image-guided stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy. Additional patient support services include pastoral care, nutritional counseling, and assistance from a licensed social worker, who helps coordinate travel and other essential needs.
