Seacoast Church Café & Bookstore Renovations
Novus has had a relationship with Seacoast for almost 20 years, and it was an honor and privilege to get chosen again to reinvigorate a space with the tones and features of the new era.
In 2006, Novus completed an addition for Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant, SC. Seacoast is one of the top churches in the country for growth. Their 100,000 sq. ft. building included a chapel similar in size and scale to what is envisioned for First Baptist Church in Covington.
The Seacoast leadership identified the need for a venue with an intimate setting as a key component of a church with an existing large 1,300 seat auditorium. The chapel was designed to meet the varied needs of this dynamic church and provides seating for 275 people. It is versatile enough to accommodate various special events including weddings, funerals and receptions. In the early 2000s, we completed the Chapel Addition, Sanctuary and Warehouse renovations, and other renovations to the Nursery and KidsCoast, and a book store and cafe areas.
In 2006 the original cafe and bookstore opened as designed by Novus for trends at that time. Seacoast is a dynamic ever changing church. New cafe styles and food preparation offering changes required a re-envisioning of the space to communicate the current needs of the congregation.
Thus in 2019 we reimagined the function and aesthetic to meet these changing needs. The vibe now says “come on over, grab a latte and pick up a new book from the bookstore! Stay awhile and connect with friends!”.
